PENCOM ASSURES WORKERS OF PENSION SAFETY, NLC RAISES CONCERN

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Director General of the National Pension Commission (PenCom), Ms. Omolola Oloworaran, has assured Nigerian workers that their pension contributions are safe and well-managed by Pension Fund Administrators.

She gave this assurance during a visit to NLC President, Comrade Joe Ajaero, in Abuja, stressing transparency and timely payment of retirement benefits.

In response, Ajaero expressed concern over the absence of a PenCom Board and alleged violations of the PenCom Act. He insisted that workers’ funds must be protected and warned against non-remittance of contributions by employers.
