NAS SECURITY SUMMIT: GOVERNOR SULE CALLS FOR FULL IMPLEMENTATION OF SUMMIT RESOLUTIONS

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has called for the full implementation of the resolutions reached at the North Central Peace and Security Summit to strengthen the nation’s security architecture.
Speaking at the summit held in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital, Governor Sule commended the convener for the timely initiative, describing it as a step towards tackling the growing insecurity in the North Central region and other parts of the country.
He emphasized that ensuring peace and security is a collective responsibility, urging participants to come up with actionable resolutions that can guarantee lasting stability in the nation.
Representing the Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Gara reaffirmed the importance of peace and security in the North Central region to national development, stressing that the recommendations of the summit must be implemented to achieve meaningful results.
Convener of the summit, Bishop Timothy Cheren, explained that the meeting, themed “Towards Ensuring Peace and Harmony in the North Central,” was organized to promote unity and cooperation among stakeholders in addressing security challenges.
Also speaking, the Nasarawa State Commissioner of Police, Shattima Jauro Mohammed, highlighted the need for greater synergy, intelligence sharing, and the use of dialogue, justice, and inclusion in resolving security issues.
The summit brought together heads of security agencies, traditional rulers, and other key stakeholders from across the North Central states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
