By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved the re-appointment of a 31-member Caretaker Committee to oversee its affairs in Akwa Ibom State. Igwat Umoren was named Chairman and Borono Bassey as Secretary, with the committee tasked to manage party activities for up to three months or until a new executive is elected.

The decision, announced by PDP National Publicity Secretary Comrade Ini Ememobong, aligns with the party’s 2025 constitution and aims to ensure smooth operations and continuity in the state chapter.
