REPS VOW TO STRENGTHEN EFCC, NFIU FOR BETTER SERVICE DELIVERY

The House of Representatives has reaffirmed its resolve to strengthen the EFCC and NFIU to boost Nigeria’s fight against financial crimes and improve global confidence in the economy.
Speaking during the 2026 budget defence, the House Committee on Financial Crimes said effective implementation of the budget and stronger institutions are key to economic recovery, improved governance and sustained growth. Lawmakers stressed their commitment to passing responsive laws that match evolving criminal tactics while supporting agencies with the tools needed to deliver results.
The House also praised recent progress in Nigeria’s financial integrity efforts, describing it as a positive signal for international credibility, investment and economic stability.
