KWARA GOVT CONFIRMS MONDAY RESUMPTION FOR ALL SCHOOLS

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Kwara State Government has confirmed that all public and private schools across the state will resume academic activities on Monday, April 20, 2026, marking the beginning of the third term after a three-week holiday.

The announcement, conveyed through the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, followed consultations with key stakeholders to ensure the resumption date aligns with the official academic calendar.

Commissioner for Education, Dr. Lawal Olohungbebe, said the decision reflects a collective agreement aimed at maintaining stability in the school system and sustaining academic progress. He commended teachers and non-teaching staff for their continued dedication, noting that their efforts have contributed to noticeable improvements in learning outcomes across public schools.

Olohungbebe also highlighted ongoing reforms in the sector, attributing recent gains to consistent government policies and sustained investment in education. He stressed the need for continued cooperation among stakeholders to further strengthen the quality of education delivery in the state.

Students were urged to return to school with focus and discipline, as the government moves to build on the progress recorded in previous terms.
