JAMB ARRESTS TWO CANDIDATES, PARENT OVER UTME RESULT FORGERY

By: Safiya Abdulrahim Dabban

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has arrested two candidates and a parent for allegedly falsifying 2026 UTME results using artificial intelligence and other electronic tools.

In a statement, JAMB said the suspects manipulated official SMS result notifications to alter scores and mislead others, warning that such actions constitute a serious criminal offence.

The board added that it will take legal action against those involved, urging candidates to rely only on its verified channels for result checks as the examination continues nationwide.
