ARMY COMMISSIONS 80 HOUSING UNITS FOR PERSONNEL IN JOS

The Nigerian Army has commissioned 80 housing units for its personnel in Jos, Plateau State, as part of efforts to improve soldiers’ welfare under its Soldier-First initiative.
Commissioning the project, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, said the housing scheme demonstrates the Army’s commitment to improving the living conditions of personnel, noting that decent accommodation would boost morale and enhance operational effectiveness.
In a statement issued by the Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Appolonia Anele, the Army said the affordable housing programme is expanding, with additional housing projects set for inauguration in Abuja and Benin. It added that five per cent of the houses have been reserved for soldiers wounded in action.
The Army Chief also inaugurated newly completed trainee hostels and convenience facilities at the 3 Division Training School in Jos, saying the projects are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen training infrastructure and improve the welfare of personnel.
