OPERATION FANSAN YAMMA: TROOPS KILL TWO TERRORISTS, INTERCEPT 180 EXPLOSIVES IN ZAMFARA

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have killed two suspected terrorists, recovered weapons and intercepted a suspected arms courier transporting 180 explosive devices in Zamfara State.
Media Information Officer of the operation, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, said troops of Sector 2 encountered terrorists around Garin Kaso in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area during a clearance operation.
He said the troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, killing two and recovering two rifles, two magazines, nine rounds of ammunition and two motorcycles. Another group of terrorists reportedly attempted to ambush the troops but fled after troops responded, with reports indicating that some of the attackers were killed or wounded.
In a separate operation, troops conducting a routine stop-and-search intercepted a 57-year-old suspected arms courier, identified as Sani Umar. A search of his vehicle led to the recovery of 180 units of 20mm Super Power explosives allegedly being transported from Gusau in Zamfara State to terrorist elements in Jibia, Katsina State.
The Theatre Command said the operations were part of efforts to disrupt terrorist logistics and prevent criminal elements from operating freely across the North West.
