TROOPS REPEL TERRORIST AMBUSH, KILL TWO IN SOKOTO

Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have killed two terrorists and recovered two AK-47 rifles and three motorcycles following an ambush in Rabah Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The Media Information Officer of the operation, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, said the troops acted on intelligence received on August 28 about terrorists moving hundreds of rustled cattle through the Maikujera area.
According to him, the troops encountered an ambush while advancing to intercept the terrorists but responded with superior firepower, forcing the attackers to flee into the surrounding bushes.
Danja said the rustled cattle dispersed during the confrontation, while troops and local vigilantes are working to recover the livestock.
He added that the area remains calm as troops continue patrols and surveillance to prevent further criminal activities.
