FG DISTRIBUTES RELIEF ITEMS TO VICTIMS OF ANAMBRA ATTACK

The Federal Government has distributed relief items worth millions of naira to victims of the July attack on the herder community in Agu-Ifite Awka, Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provided 400 bags each of rice and beans, along with 400 cartons of spaghetti and other items to cushion the impact of the attack.
NEMA Director-General, Zubaida Umar, said the agency visited the community after receiving reports of the incident to assess the damage and support the victims.
Chairman of Awka South LGA, Chinedu Okafor, commended the victims for remaining calm and urged them to continue supporting efforts to maintain peace.
The community thanked the Federal and Anambra State governments for the assistance and called for the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the attack.
Four people were reportedly killed in the July incident.
