The House of Representatives has dissolved all its Ad Hoc Committees after the expiration of the period allotted for their assignments.
The directive was contained in a statement issued by the Clerk of the House, Sidi Ibrahim, on the instruction of Speaker Abbas Tajudeen.
The House said the affected committees had earlier been directed to complete their assignments and submit their reports within the approved timeframe.
According to the statement, two committees were granted two-week extensions, but the extensions have also expired.
The dissolution took effect on August 28, 2026, with committee chairmen directed to submit outstanding reports, documents and other materials to the Clerk’s office.
