FORMER SSS, NIA DIRECTOR-GENERAL ALBERT HORSFALL DIES

Former Director-General of the State Security Service, SSS, and pioneer Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency, NIA, Chief Albert Korubo Horsfall, has died.
Horsfall’s death was announced on Friday in a statement signed by his son, Donald Horsfall, on behalf of the family.
The family said the former security and intelligence chief died peacefully after a life devoted to public service, family and the development of Rivers State and Nigeria.
Horsfall, a prominent elder statesman from Rivers State, served in several key government positions and was regarded as one of the notable figures in Nigeria’s security and intelligence history.
He was also Chairman of the former Oil Mineral Producing Areas Development Commission and contributed to the development of Rivers State and the Niger Delta.
The family described him as a distinguished public servant whose career was marked by patriotism, integrity and commitment to good governance.
His son said the family would draw comfort from the legacy he left behind, adding that his knowledge, experience and compassion would continue to inspire those who knew him.
The family said arrangements for his burial would be announced at a later date.
