NIGER GOVERNOR APPROVES THE IMMEDIATE RECRUITMENT OF 1000 HEALTHCARE WORKERS IN THE STATE 06-02-24
By Sadiq Aminu Governor Mohammed Umar Bago of Niger state has approved the immediate recruitment of one thousand healthcare workers to address current shortfall in the number of doctors and nurses at the state health centres.
This followed the lifting of embargo for the recruitment of civil servants by Niger state government.
Commissioner Primary Healthcare Dr Ibrahim Ahmed Dangana stated this while addressing Newsmen in Minna.
Dr Ibrahim Dangana explained that any moment from now the recruitment process will commence towards bridging the manpower shortages in the health sector for effective healthcare service delivery.
According to him the state Governor also approved the direct replacement of any healthcare personnel that is going on retirement so that Nigerlites recieved the best interns of Healthcare services because health they said is wealth.
He said as part of effort by the Niger state government to reduce cases of brain drain in health sector a taskforce to resuscitate scholarship for healthcare professionals has been set up and will no doubt achieve the desired results.
Dr Ibrahim Dangana also spoke of plans by the Niger state government and some development partners to construct a multi million naira Emergency Operation Centre OPS at the state secretariat in Minna to enable them coordinate from the centre and attend to all cases of diseases from across twenty five local government areas with ease.
