ADDRESS SECURITY, ECONOMIC ISSUES- CAN URGES FEDERAL GOVERNMENT                                                         19-02-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                       The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN wants the Federal Government to make concerted efforts to address the current security and economic challenges in the country.

The new Coordinator of CAN, Kuje Area Council chapter, Venerable Sam Akale, who made the call during the inauguration of the new leadership, also decried the number of unemployed youths and the poor state of infrastructure hindering socioeconomic development in Kuje Area Council.

The new CAN leader, who is also the Vicar of Saint Luke Anglican Church Kuje, believes that urgent action to address these challenges would bring peace and alleviate the plight of residents in the area.

According to him, cooperation and support of all citizens with fervent prayers will also go a long way in bringing lasting solution to these challenges.

Venerable Akale maintained that the new leadership would embark on advocacy visits to traditional and religious institutions on the need to pray and work together, as well as educate youths on embracing peace and supporting the FCT administration in bringing the needed change to the territory.

The cleric emphasized that CAN would also initiate skill acquisition and empowerment programs to enable youths and rural women to be self reliant to complement their spiritual growth.

The Kuje CAN leader expressed optimism that the next five years would bring all Christains together for vigorous Evangelism in the area.

Representatives of the State and National Secretariats attended the inauguration.
