THE STRIKE BY NLC IN NIGER STATE RECIEVES TOTAL COMPLIANCE                                                                          21-02-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                        The stike action embarked by Organised Labour in Niger state has recorded total and full compliance.

Chairman Niger state chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress NLC Comrade Idris Lafene stated this in a telephone interview with Africa 247 in Minna the Niger state capital.

Comrade Idris Lafene said there were total compliance with the directive given to members to embark on an indefinite strike to press home their demands in all the offices visited today in parts of the state which he described as highly recommendable.

According to him the strike is not intended to further inflict more injuries to Civil Servants who are currently affected by the current economic hardship, insisting that the strike will continue until tangible and reasonable progress is achieved.

Comrade  Idris Lafene explained that even though, they met today with some officials of Niger state government trying to reach an agreement, but the meeting ended in a deadlock.

All the schools hospitals recreational center’s and government offices in Niger state have remain closed while banks and markets which have remain opened for the first day of strike could be closed down if the problem persist.
