Project Nigeria’s image positively – Lawyer tasks journalists

Share
Mr Farouk Taiwo, an Ilorin based legal practioner, has advised journalists to report positive news about Nigeria in order to project the good image of the country internationally.
Taiwo, who made the call in Ilorin on Friday in an interview with the NTV Africa, said Nigeria has positive stories happening on daily basis as a nation.
According to him, journalists and the media must focus more on positive happenings and stop dwelling on the negative occurrences.
Taiwo maintained that Nigeria ‘’is not the worst nation in the world; we are still doing better than some countries in many ways”.
He said that the media should focus more on positive angle of the reports, rather than hammering on the negative, especially violence.
“Save Nigeria image, portray Nigeria’s good side to the international community; we are tired of hearing and reading bad things about our country,’’ he said.
The lawyer, however, called on the public to stop making negative utterances and prophesies about the country as they tend to soil the image of the nation.
