This is contained in a statement by the Deputy Director of Press in the ministry, Afonja Ajibola on Thursday in Abuja.

According to Belgore, the data centre will help in storing and protecting vital information, ensure safety and serve as backup to intelligence information.

“The facility will also guard against loss of information in case of fire disaster or other forms of unforeseen mishaps, thereby safeguarding security of documents,” he added.

Belgore also unveiled an Electronic Document Management System to enhance staff efficiency and service delivery in the ministry.

“The system is meant to improve work flow from one schedule officer to the next, thereby reducing paperwork and wastage of stationeries.

“It will also promote hard work, increase workers productivity and further meet staff training needs,” the permanent secretary said.

Belgore who also inaugurated a creche, said it was conceived to provide conducive working environment to nursing mothers in the ministry.

He added that it would spare the mothers unnecessary anxiety associated with nursing their babies and give them the confidence to work efficiently.
