Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umar Bago says his administration would soon come up with developmental policies and programmes that might be tough and painful to some person’s.

The governor gave the hint during his key note address at the 2023 traditional Sallah durbar,known as Bariki,held at Wadata palace in Bida local council of the state over the weekend.

Bago noted that those that may be affected by the tough and painful policies should take it as contribution to mother and father land.

While assuring the people the fulfilment of his campaign promises as it concerns security,provision of safe and portable drinking water,quality education as well as good healthcare system,he enjoined the people to embrace agriculture.

The governor also assured the citizens that his administration would promote cultural heritage of the state across the globe.

Umar Bago maintained that priority attention will be given to the tourism and culture,promised to rebrand the Nupe kingdom in line with his urban renewal policy.

He congratulated the Etsu Nupe for the successful hosting of the Sallah Durbar, and appealed for continuous prayer for the success of his administration.

Earlier,the Etsu Nupe,and Chairman,Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers,Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar disclosed that the Bariki is part of the annual sallah celebrations which allows the people to display their rich cultural heritage.

The Monarch explained that Bida is one of the 46 cultural cities in the World, adding that the rich cultural heritage of the city has afforded it’s people the opportunity to travelled to South Korea and South Africa to showcase the cultural heritage of the land.

The Royal Father however urged his subjects to be loyal and law abiding to the constituted authorities,assured that the Emirate and the entire Council of Traditional Rulers will synergise with the state government to ensure that tourism is promoted in the state and beyond.

Highlight of the event were the cultural performance and display by different traditional musicians,hunters, masquerades and colorful horse ride.
