Enhancing Agriculture:AFAN solicits KNSG support
The leadership of All Farmers Association of Nigeria Kano chapter has solicited the support Kano State government in providing adequate fertilizer and farm inputs to farmers.
The Chairman of the Association in Kano Alhaji Magaji Rimin Gado disclosed this when members of the association paid a courtesy call to the commissioner of Agriculture Alhaji Danjuma Mahmoud in his Office.
He seeked the support of the present administration in Kano in providing modern farm inputs to farmers , aimed at boosting food production.
Alhaji Magaji Rimin Gado noted that lack of adequate fertilizer causes a lot of havoc in the Agricultural production hence there was the urgent need for government to salvage the sector from collapse.
” Government should ensure adequate training of farmers on agricultural mechanization , and make modern agro machines available to farmers at a subsidized rate so that they can hire ”
He assured the government absolute support of farmers , aimed at achieving the stated objectives.
In his remarks the commissioner of Agriculture Alhaji Danjuma Mahmoud said Kano state government was committed in providing modern farming inputs to the farmers.
He stressed that government would collaborate efforts with farmers association with the aim of ensuring food security.
