*GOV. BUNI DIRECTS PALLIATIVE COMMITTEE TO MOBILISE RESOURCES FOR IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni wants the state Committee on Palliatives to mobilize resources for immediate distribution to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal.

In a statemen by Governor Buni’s his media aide Mamman Mohammed, the Governor requested the committee to mobilize resources at the disposal of the state government to support the people.

“The Committee has commenced work and working out plans and strategies to cover every sector of the society especially those in need.

“It is going to be comprehensive and total, with priority attention given to those who truly deserve the support,” he said.

Governor Buni also directed the committee to map out a holistic approach to identifying areas that require immediate, intermediate, and long-term interventions.

He explained that already the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has commenced the distribution of food materials to People with disabilities.

The Governor assured that government will provide support in other critical sectors like transport, and continue with its empowerment programmes, as well as providing accessible and affordable healthcare delivery and education among others.

He said the intervention would cover every sector in the private sector, Civil servants, farmers, and students among others.

The Governor urged the people to cooperate with the government in its commitment to provide support to the people to cushion the hardships.

Buni warned that the government would not tolerate any act of sabotage that would hinder this laudable intervention to deny the people the needed support.
