KANO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY REVERSE SUSPENSION OF…..

Kano state house of assembly has reversed the suspension of Nasarawa local chairman, Alhaji Auwalu Lawan Shu’aibu by eight of the eleven elected councillors.
This was sequel to deliberations, on the floor of the house, during plenary seasion, presided over by the speaker Alhaji Isma’il Jibril Falgore.
Earlier, the councillors had sent a letter to the house, informing the suspension of the chairman over financial misappropriation, and other allegations.
The councillors directed Auwalu Lawan to handover the mantle of leadership to his deputy, Muazu Abubakar Adamu pending the conclusion of investigation.
In another letter to Kano state house of assembly by the suspended chairman, Auwalu Lawan, where he explained that, he was not served with a query or letter based on the allegations, but rather heard the news over the social media.
In their separate contributions, the majority leader, Lawan Hussaini Dala, member representing Sumaila, who doubles as chairman house standing committee on local governments, and Musa Ali Kachako representing Takai called on the house to maintain the status quo.
They explained that, the councillors ought to have complained to the house before taking action.
After careful deliberations, the house adopted a resolution, and called on the councillors to reverse their earlier decision ,to suspend the chairman and wait for further directives, from the state house of assembly.
The house also called on the commissioner for local governments, and deputy governor of Kano state Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, to do everything possible to ensure peace in Nasarawa.
The house also mandated it’s standing committee on local governments and chieftancy affairs, to investigate and report within one week.
