NIS Kebbi Command Celebrates 60 Years Anniversary
The Kebbi State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service, says it has intercepted 52 victims of human tracfficking from Febuary 2022 to date and handed over the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) in the state.
The State Command Comptroller, Rabi Bashir Nuhu, stated this while briefing newsmen on the occasion to mark 60 years anniversary of the agency.
According to her, the 2015 Immigration Act has mandated the agency to check and control those coming into and outside the country by tendering of their traveling documents.
Rabi Nuhu, stated that, the agency also control illegal Immigrants moving out of the country saying, the headquarters of the agency has made a team that is enhancing the seamless regular migrants.
“Is dishartning that, at this state we discover people who are Trafficking in human beings and smuggling in human beings”.
The Comptroller, hope that, the perpetrators of victims of human tracfficking intercepted by the agency personnel in the state and handed over to NAPTIP, were arrested and prosecuted.
Highlights of the celebration, was a roadmarch from the Command Headquarters to parts of Birnin Kebbi metropolis as well as games to be held tomorrow.
