SOKOTO STATE GOVERNMENT HAS EXPENDED MORE THAN FIVE HUNDRED MILLION NAIRA FOR SCHOOL FEES OF

The Sokoto State Government has expended more than five hundred million naira on registration and school fees of indigent students studying at Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.

The Chairman, association of students union in the university,Comrade Abdullahi Aliyu, revealed this while briefing newsmen in Sokoto state.

According to the chairman of the students union said the immediate past government in the state failed to pay the registration fees of Sokoto state indigenes studying in UDUS for three sessions, noting that this caused students unrest and disrupted studies in the school.

Comrade Abdullahi Aliyu who commended gov. Ahmad Aliyu said the governor has restored hope to the entire Sokoto students across different higher institutions of learning in the country.

He said the payment followed an action taken by the University to stop all Sokoto state students from writing examination after three years without paying for their tuition fees by the Sokoto state scholarship Board which compelled the state government to form a committee in order to speedy up the payment to enable the students sit for their exam.
