ZAMFARA POLICE COMMAND FOILS ATTACK RECOVERS 2 AK 47 RIFFLES, MOTORCYCLE, AMMUNITIONS.

The Zamfara State Police Tactical Operatives deployed to Magarya in Zurmi local government area of the state have arrested five armed men on two motorcycles suspected to be bandits planning to attack Muslims during juma’at prayer.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer ASP Yazid Abubakar disclosed this during a press briefing with Africa247 held at the command’s headquarters, Gusau.
He said the operatives mobilized and confronted the bandits, engaged them in gun duel which lasted for an hour and as a result of that, one of the bandits was neutralized while others escaped with gun shots.
Yazid further explained that, the command also succeeded in arresting a suspected kidnapper who terrorized Saminaka area in Gusau local government area of the state.
He said the suspect named Lawali Dan Hajiya Dogo was arrested based on actionable intelligence that led to the arrest of the above named suspect who was suspected to be among the notorious kidnappers terrorizing the Saminaka area under Gusau Metropolis.
In the course of investigation one Mika’ilu lbrahim of Saminaka identified Dogo as one of the bandits that kidnapped him in March 2023 at his residence in Saminaka while another victim Aina’u Aliyu also identified him as the one who kidnapped her in June, 2023.
Similarly, the command also arrested bandits informant in Zurmi local government area named Umma Zubairu of Rukudawa village in connection with the planned attack on policemen at Zurmi Division.
During the interrogation, the suspect confessed that she has been working with bandit kingpin Dan karami Gwaska as his informant and tasks her to monitor policemen at Zurmi Division so as to attack the Division.
In a related development, three suspected notorious motorcycles snatchers at Yar Tukunya village along Gusau- Kaura road and exhibits recovered from them includes, a red motorcycle Boxer, a golf car with registration number GWD 532 BS and Citroen car with registration number MkA 97 DH black in colour.
The suspects are Hamza Bello Laura, Mu’azu Nasiru and Umar Usman while others are at large adding that, preliminary investigation revealed that, the suspects are notorious and professional motorcycles snatchers within Gusau metropolis.
The PPRO also revealed that, the command has introduced new anti-crime measures to curb criminal activities in the State while the existing harmonious relationship with the member of the Press is sustained.
