The All Progressives Congress, APC in the Federal Capital Territory, says president Bola Tinubu’s appointment of Mr. Zephaniah Jisalo as a Minister would strengthen the party in the Territory.

Addressing newsmen Africa247 on the development, the Chairman of the APC in the FCT Alhaji Abdulmalik Usman described Mr. Jisalo as a prominent chieftain of the party in the area and maintained the gesture would be used to advance the electoral chances of the party and make it very actractive to the people.

Alhaji Abdumalik emphasized that
President Tinubu had made history as this was first time an FCT indegene would be appointed as a minister since 1999.

He said the entire people of the territory were excited over the choice of the ministerial nominee adding that it was a phenomenon of social justice for the FCT people.

He said “We actively participated in the merger process of APC in 2014 and took part in the 2015 general elections that scored us 47.3% with neither Governor nor Minister. We went into the 2016 FCT Area Council election with only one area Council out of six, but won five and later reclaimed the remaining one making APC to have the whole six Area Councils. Though, we have suffered unfortunate challenges in our subsequent elections outings, but we remained firm and committed to our party.

“Now, this opportunity will deepen and expand our political commitment in subsequent elections, it will also give APC, an opportunity to engage views and share ideas on emerging advantage that will improve not only political, but economic growth among other benefits.”
