KEBBI CUSTOMS INTERCEPTS DRUGS WORTH………..

The Nigeria Customs, Kebbi Area Command, has intercepted Drugs worth 22.1 million naira as well as generated over 99. 2 million naira for the month of July.

The area Comptroller, Dr. Ben Oramalugo, while handing over the seized items to NDLEA at the Command’s Headquarters in Birnin Kebbi, said the items are 138 packed of tramaking tramadol, 81 tablet size of Cannabis Sativa and a used Toyota Camry 2007 Model as means of conveyance.

He said, the Command also made a seizure of items that include 46 bags of foreign parboiled rice of 50 kg each and 40 kg bags of rice of 25 kg each, 88 bailes of second hands clothing, 4,200 liters of PMS and 525 liters of diésel as well as 37 kegs of vegetales Oil with duty paid value of over 51.4 million naira naira.

According to the Comptroller of Customs, the seizure of such drugs was In line with the vow made during the previous Press Conference that they are determine to rid out Kebbi State of Drugs inflow and all items capable of casino harm to Nigerians.

Dr. Oramalugo, disclosed that, the Command had embarked of sensitizing and orientan the public on the subsequent sanctions imposed by ECOWAS on Niger Republic that resulted to the closure of Nigeria Niger borders.

“Particularly we visited the good people of Kamba in Dandi local government area to ensure total compliance to the border closure sanction and we used the opportunity to sympathised with the host communities and Stakeholders who used Kamba as an import and export hub”.

The Kebbi State Commandant of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA, Suleiman Usman, commended the Nigeria Customs Service for intercepting such drugs which can be harmful to the society if they were successfuly gain access to the public.

He said, recently the Customs Command also handed over to NDLEA worth of million naira drugs which was a remarkable actualments in the fight against illicit drugs in the state.
