Plateau state Government has announced an immediate ban on all forms of mobile revenue collection across the State.
State Governor Caleb Mutfwang announced this at a session of the on-going retreat organised for all appointees in the State, holding at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru, Jos.
Governor Caleb Mutfwang in his response after a presentation by the Chairman of the Plateau State Internal Revenue Service Board, PSIRS, Mr Jim Wayas noted with dismay the ugly scenario where multiple individuals are involved in various forms of revenue collection without recourse to appropriate channels.
The Governor pledged to muster the political will at his disposal aimed at turning around the revenue base of the State.
He also pledged to henceforth publicly disclose all revenue accruals to the state and how it will be expended.
Earlier in a presentation at one of the sessions, a facilitator, Dr Chris Kwaja who spoke on “Leadership and Teamwork” advocated the need for synergy between the various ministries with a charge on them to work towards self assessment and stressed the need for the engagement of an implementation strategy when raising memos.
Highpoint at the fourth day of the retreat was a brain storming session by participants on various issues that are in line with development framework of the administration.
