KEBBI: KBSG SIGNS 10 BILLION NAIRA MOU FOR COMPLETION OF ULTRAMODERN STATE SECRETARIAT…………

The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, has signed a N10 billion Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with two construction firms for the completion of the abandoned Ultra Modern State Secretariat Complex in Birnin Kebbi.

While Signing the MOU shortly after the maiden State Executive Council (SEC) meeting, Governor Idris said, the complition of the Secreteriate would contract was to streamline the civil service and reduce the conjection of workers at the old Secreteriate.

He described the project as part of his commitment towards providing conducive working environment for the civil service.

The Governor charged the construction firms to meet up with the 18 months contractual agreement.

The project was initially awarded to Rockwell Nigeria Limited at the cost of N3.8 billion in 2021 by the Governor Saidu Usman Dakingari’s administration and later reviewed to N7.7 billion in 2014 due to fluctuation in prices of good and reached 50 per cent completion by December 2015 but was later abandoned.

The project is divided into “Lot A and Lot B” at the cost of over 10 billion naira with 18 months completion period.

In an interview with newsmen, the Project Manager, MTECH Universal Concept limited Engineer Manir Jega appreciated the governor for finding indigenous contractors worthy of completing the work and assured a timely completion.
