CUSTOMS-NDLEA-KB:KEBBI CUSTOMS INTERCEPT DRUGS WORTH MILLIONS OF NAIRA……………………..

The Kebbi Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service, has intercepted 98 packs of Diazepam, 371 Parcels of Cannabis Sativa and 10 sacks of Snuff worth over 94.7 million naira and handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA.
While handing over the seized items, the Area Comptroller, Dr. Ben Oramalugo, explains that, the Command has successfully intercepted 1080 pieces of Donkey skin, 16 bales of second hand cloths, 37 baga of Foreign Rice, 300 liters of PMS and a Toyota corola as means of convenyance with a paid duty value of over 70 million naira.
“On a sad note, while we continue to give smugglers of drugs and other harmful items a bloody no: we Unfortunately lost two of our hard working officers in the line of duty along Bunza-Koko-Dakingari road”.
According to the Comptroller, the sad incident that occurred would not deter or dampen the moral of the officers and men of the Command and assured to double their effort and work in synergy with all relevant agencies so as to stem the menace of drugs smuggling in the state.
Responding, Kebbi State Commander of NDLEA, Sule Usman, commended Customs for their effort to stem down the menace of drugs coming in to the country through the state considering its borders Niger and Benin Republics.
He said, the drugs would be destroy and the suspects would be made to face the wrath of the law.
The head of Quarantine Services Kebbi State, Abdurrasak Mohammed Bashir, assured that the Donkey skin would be destroy as the law permit for the arrest of any of the endanger spicies.
