KBSG COMMITTED TO CIVIL SERVANTS WELFARE: ACCOUNTANT GENERAL                04-09-23

The Kebbi State Accountant General, Bello Ibrahim Nahaliku says the administration of Comrade Nasir Idris is committed to the socioeconomic wellbeing of civil servants in the state because they are stakeholders in nation building.

Addressing newsmen in Birnin Kebbi, the Accountant General stated that, Government was not owing workers and pensioners both at State and Local Government levels any monthly pay stressing that salaries were always paid before the twenty-fifth of every month since Governor Idris took over the affairs of the state on the twenty-ninth of May.

He noted that, because of the Governor’s attitude in responding to issues that would impart positively to the lives of the people, funds were promptly released to contractors handling various projects across the state adding that completion of the abandoned ultramodern Secretariat would definitely be a thing of joy to civil servants especially those with acute shortage of office accommodation.

” To whom much is given much is expected. Let me emphasize the fact that civil servants in the state have no excuse not to support the Government as it struggle to foster changes in all sector. They will do better if they carry out office work diligently with every sense of patriotism”.

Ibrahim Nahaliku, called on projects supervisors ensure contacts execution are carried out according to the bill of quantity and specifications saying, they should know that if they compromise standards it might cost our lives and property especially in the areas of substandard roads, bridges, classrooms, offices amongst others.

On the issue of palliatives, the Accountant General said, funds were already set aside for the purchase of tonnes of assorted grains for distribution to several households to compliment the supplies received from the Federal Government meant to cushion the effects of fuel subsidy removal.

He however charged traditional rulers to call on civil servants with traditional titles in their domains and were occupying sensitive government offices to be responsive in the discharge of their duties.
