TEACHERS-KB: KEBBI TEACHERS TO RETIRE AT………

The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris, has approved the domestication of the law upgrading the retirement age of teachers from Sixty to Sixty-Five years of age

The Commissioner for Basic Education, Hajiya Halima Mohammed Bande, disclosed this at a news briefing shortly after the Weekly State Executive Council Meeting

The Commissioner said, to this end teachers who worked for thirt-five years in the teaching profession had the opportunity of reaching forty years before retirement

She stated that, necessary paper work would be presented to the Ministry of Justice to prepare a Bill for onward submission to the State House of Assembly to enact a law.

The Commissioner said, once the bill become a law the Governor would definitely assent to it in order to boost the morale of teachers across the State.
