LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS IN TARABA TO HOLD ON 18TH NOVEMBER 2023: DR PHILIP DANLADI                                                                                   20-09-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                                 The Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission has fixed the eighteenth of November this year for the conduct of the Local Government elections.

The Executive chairman of TSIEIC Dr Philip Danladi Duwe announced this during an interactive session with media managers and journalists in the state held at the commission’s office in Jalingo.

Dr Philip Danladi Duwe said the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission was making all necessary arrangements to conduct credible election that would be acceptable to all.

He pointed out that the commission was working tirelessly to ensure that communities displaced by conflict or flood disaster were not disenfranchised as consultations were ongoing on modalities to be adopted to enable eligible voters from such communities participate in the election.

While commenting on the tenure of local government officials, TSIEC Executive Chairman said all elected officials would serve for three years.

Dr Philip Danladi further solicited for the support of the media in the state while promising to ensure transparency at all levels of the election.

At the moment there are three thousand six hundered and fifty polling units in one hundred and sixty eight wards across the sixteen local government areas of Taraba where elections are expected to be conducted during the Taraba State 2023 Local Government elections.
