CIPP ORGANIZES CMMRC MEETING TO PROMOTE PEACE IN KANO                                                                                     27-09-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The Community Initiative to Promote Peace (CIPP), has called on stakeholders to inculcate the culture of peace, love and tolerance in their Communities, to foster unity among people in Kano State.

CIPP state Coordinator, Hajiya Ramatu Adamu, made the call during a Conflict Mitigation and Management Regional Council (CMMRC), meeting held in Kano.

According to her, the essence of the stakeholders meeting was to work together and ensure the promotion of unity in communities.

She highlighted that, CMMRC and the Community Peace Observers (CPO), need to put more efforts towards promoting peace, love and tolerance in Nigeria.

Hajiya Ramatu maintained that, the community peace observers (CPO), collaborated with the media, to handle challenges and success in communities and state level.

“It is important to strengthen peace, both within and among people and country at large,the community initiatives to promote peace, is a five year programme which will roundup by Feb. 2024”

The State Coordinator pointed out that CIPP, is working in four communities across Fagge, Dala, Nasarawa and Kano Municipal local government areas to promote peace.

A representative from interfaith Mediation center Mr John Akor, pointed out that, the programme entails early warning, and immediate response structure mechanism coordination.

“And also, people are trained for a sustainable way to promote peace gradually and get good results”

A member of CIPP Malam Abdullahi Yusuf, hinted that, the CMMRC meeting would assist in dissemination of peace in the society and sensitize critical stakeholders for progress and peace.

The event attracted over 40 participants from all works of life.
