KEBBI ANCHOR BORROWERS LOAN BENEFICIARIES ADVISED TO PAYBACK-YUSUF ISIYAKA GABI                                                                                         28-09-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                         Over 80,000 beneficiaries of Anchor Borrowers Loan programme in Kebbi State were advised to repay back their loan as stipulated period of time.

The State Chairman, Wheat Farmers Association of Nigeria(WFAN) and Vice Chairman Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria, (RIFAN) Alhaji Yusuf Isiyaka Gabi, gave the advise while speaking with Africa 247 in Birnin Kebbi.

He said, those that received the loan from 2016 to 2018 have not repaid the loan, therefore they should repay to avoid embarassment by the Federal Government.

According to him, the loan provided to farmers was N310,000 for those that received full package which include pumping machine, fertilizer, seeds among others saying, we have directed all coordinators of the 21 local government areas to pressurize farmers with Anchor Borrowers Loan to repay back within the stipulated time.

Alhaji Isiyaka Gabi, revealed that, most farmers that collected the loan thought it was a gift by the Federal Government until now that, they were asked to repay back, they realised it was a loan.

Alhaji Gabi, however called on farmers to repay back their loan before action is taking by the Federal Government for failure to repay back.
