ZAMFARA ASSEMBLY: A BILL TO ESTABLISH COMMUNITY PROTECTION GUARD PASSES SECOND READING                                                          03-10-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                 The Zamfara Assembly in its Extraordinary Plenary session has deliberated, and give a Bill for A Law to establish Zamfara State Directorate For Community Protection Guard in the state first and second Reading respectively.

If approved by the House the bill will enable the state government to establish the Directorate with a view to complement the effort of Security agencies in the prevention of banditry as well as other criminal activities across the State.

The request to that effect was presented by Majority Leader, Bello Muhd Mazawaje, and seconded by the Deputy Speaker Adamu Aliyu Gummi.

Contributing on the matter, the entire members welcomed the idea by the executive,, which according to them will assist in tackling security challenges bedeviling the state and beyond.

After an extensive deliberation by the Lawmakers, Speaker of the House Bilyaminu Ismail Moriki directed the Clerk to the House, Alhaji Mamuda Aliyu to give the Bill First and second reading, respectively.

Bilyaminu Moriki also said the house has mandated its Committee on Security, Justice and Judiciary to make their findings and report back to the House within two weeks.
