HUMANITARIAN MINISTER HANDOVER FORTY HOUSES TO IDPS IN ZAMFARA  STATE                                                                                                                      06-10-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                              The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Dr Betta Edu has officially handover 40 houses units to internally Displaced Persons by bandits in Zamfara state.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr Edu assured to provide more support to Zamfara state government for upward distribution to displaced persons.

According to her, the houses were meant for distribute to forty house holds whose have at least eight to nine children and are fully equipped with the needed facilities.

She urged the beneficiaries of the gesture to make good use of it adding that two similar gesture would be provided in the two senatorial districts of the state when ever government provide land for that purposes.

Earlier, Governor Dauda Lawal of the state commended the effort of the federal government for the gesture and ask for more support from the president.

Also speaking, the National Commissioner for refugees, Migrants and IDPs Comission Alhaji Tijjani Aliyu Ahmad said the commission had provide shelters to internally displaced persons in Zamfara, Sokoto and Katsina states.

According to him, the commission also had trained IDPs on houses keeping, sanitation and environmental discipline to enable them to have culture of maintenance.

Highlight of the event was the distribution of the keys of the houses to the beneficiaries as well as the presentation of palliatives to the people.
