By Sadiq Aminu                                                               The Chairman, Body of Benchers, Justice Mary Odili has charged has charged new lawyers, who were called to the Nigerian Bar to uphold the code of ethics of the profession and use their new status to fight against injustice.

Justice Odili who gave the charge at the official Call to Bar ceremony of the new wigs, which took place at the Body of Benchers Complex, Abuja, urged them to champion the course of justice and the rule of law in the country.

She advised the new lawyers to provide life changing services for the downtrodden and to always endeavour to change the world positively in the cause of their practice as lawyers

The Director General of the Nigeria Law School, Prof. Isa Chiroma said the new wigs were qualified to be lawyers as they had met all the requirements set by the Counsel of Legal Education.

Prof. Chiroma noted that out of the 1097 candidates, 1085 were successful at the July 2023 Bar Final examinations; 12 candidates were from previous Bar final examination, while 2 candidates were disqualified.
