MINISTER OF INFORMATION AND NATIONAL ORIENTATION HOSTS JOURNALISTS IN ABUJA                                                                                 11-10-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                            Journalists have been described as veritable partners in the development of the country.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation Alhaji Mohammed Idris stated this while hosting the National Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalist in Abuja.

He said to achieve the renewed hope agenda of the present administration, journalists must support and fact check the information at their disposal before publishing.

Alhaji Mohammed Idris pledged that, the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”s administration will ensure journalists have a condusive environment to practice their profession.

He therefore called on Nigeria Union of Journalists to support the ministry to deliver on its mandate.

The National President, Nigeria Union of Journalists ,Mr Chris Isiguzo while describing the appointment of the Minister of Information and National Orientation as a round peg in a round hole promised the unions support in all its activities.

He urged the minister to ensure journalists practice their profession without any form of molestation.

Mr Isiguzo also appealed to the minister to intervene in recovering it’s check.-off dues been paid to other unions account instead of that of the NUJ.
