FRSC CORPSE MARSHAL EXPRESSES CONCERN OVER INCESSANT ATTACKS ON OFFICIALS ON DUTY 19-10-23
By Sadiq Aminu The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC has expressed concern over increasing attacks on officers and men during operations.
The Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali-Biu who stated this at the commencement of the Ember Months Campaign in Abuja appealed to motorists to desist from the act.
Represented by the Corps Commandant’, Akinwumi Fasakin, the Corps Marshal stressed the need for motorists particularly commercial drivers to always ascertain their health status.
The FRSC Corps Marshal assured that the Corps would continue to come up with initiatives and policies on safety for all road users in the country.
FCT Sector Commander, Mr Muta’a Chorrie while speaking on the theme ‘Speed Thrills, But Kills; Drive Responsibly and Avoid Overloading” appealed to motorists to always abide by traffic rules and regulations.
The Sector Commander expressed worry over the spate of accidents along Lugbe-Airport road as a result of non compliance with traffic rules.
According to Him, non usage of pedestrian bridges along the Airport corridor contributes to death of road users daily by Hit and Run Drivers.
He solicited the cooperation of transport Union leaders for effective traffic management in the federal capital territory.
FCT minister Nyensom Wike said the administration would continue to upgrade road infrastructure to promote seamless traffic flow.
Represented by the mandate Secretary Transportation Secretariat, Ubokutom Nyah, the minister said No fewer than one hundred and thirty five bad roads are being rehabilitated .
He therefore appealed to road users to compliment the administration’s efforts by obeying traffic rules.
The Secretary, FCT tricycle operators Mr Nasir Umar commended the FRSC for providing weekly sensitization to the operators on rules guiding their operations in the six Area councils of the territory..
Representatives of other traffic management agencies pledged their commitment to the success of this year’s Ember Months Campaign.
