ZAMFARA GOVT SPENT 460 MILLION NAIRA FOR RECONSTRUCTION OF NYSC PERMANENT ORIENTATION CAMP IN TSAFE 26-10-23
By Sadiq Aminu Zamfara State government says it spent about 460 million naira for the renovation and construction of additional structures at the NYSC permanent site, Tsafe local government area of the state.
The State Commissioner of Youths and Sports development, Alhaji Tasiu Musa Shinkafi disclosed this at the occasion of the NYSC/Corps Employers workshop held at UBE Training Center Bye- Pass, Gusau, State Capital.
Alhaji Tasiu Shinkafi said the construction and renovation work has reached forty percent of completion, adding that, government has satisfied with the level the work done so far and assured more support to the corps members deployed to state and staff of the NYSC.
He added that, this administration under the leadership of governor Dauda Lawal, will continue to show more commitments to the improved welfare and security of lives and properties of all corps members deployed to the state and urged them to be law abiding citizens.
The commissioner added that, state government is already working on enhanced welfare packages for corps members serving in schools and other state government establishments.
In his keynote address, the Director, NYC north west area office, Mr Kehinde Aremu, represented by the Deputy Director Finance and Account of the zone, Mr Igbudu Ugada said the aim of the program is to make the young patriotics to contribute toward nation building.
He urged their employers to make some statutory welfare packages for the corps members to motivate them as well as to apply appropriate sanctions against any erring corps members and to report details of their wrong doing and sanctions
Earlier, in his welcome address, the NYSC Zamfara State Coordinator, Alhaji Abdulsam Alhasan, said the program was organized with a view to utilize the Corps members potentials for the development of the state and the nation at large.
He said the choice of this workshop theme, “Evolving Strategies for Promoting a Healthy Work/Life Balance for Corps Members -The role of Employers” is timely as collaboration between productivity and motivation through adequate welfare packages for corps members is essential.
The state coordinator also urged all workshop participants to take the proceedings of this workshop to heart while in the other hand appreciate the participants and the state government for providing enable environment for corps members to thrive and operate in the state.
