NAF BOMBARDS TERRORISTS’ HIDEOUTS NEAR MARTE IN BORNO STATE                                                                                                                   30-10-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      Nigerian Airforce says airstrikes against identified terrorists’ hideouts and enclaves have continued unabated in Borno State over the weekend.

In a statement by Director of Public Relations and Information of NAF, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet says sequel to intelligence received from Land component of operation hadin kai(ophk) yesterday that about 22 terrorists in a gun truck and 2 motorcycles were sighted near Marte, NAF aircraft were immediately dispatched to interdict the location, where the terrorists were sighted about 22km west of marte and moving northwards munguno.

The targets were subsequently engaged with a huge ball of fire engulfing the area observed afterward, destroying their gun struck and motorcycles with no sign of movement afterward.

According to the statement, the failed strategies adopted by terrorists to evade detection and the firepower of the land and air components of operation hadin kai, by moving from one point to another is indicative of their inability to hold ground and pose significant threats to military formations or pick on soft civilian targets at will, thereby exhibiting their desperation and weakness through their conduct.

The statement notes that the recent assertion of Governor Babagana Zulum of improved security situation in Borno State attests to the successes of the efforts of the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies.
