KANO HISBAH WINNING WAR AGAINST PROSTITUTION, SOCIETAL VICES -DCG                                                         06-11-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                        The Kano state hisbah board, says it is winning the war against prostitution, drug peddling and other societal vices.

The deputy commander general in charge of operations Dr. Mujahid Aminudeen Abubakar, made the disclosure at hisbah headquarters sharada Kano.

According to him, in the last few weeks, the agency had launched an operation tagged ‘yaki da badala’ across the eight metropolitan local government areas in Kano,where it arrested several young men and women.

He stressed that,19 people comprising of 14 women and 5 men, were arrested in three different locations at Sabon gari, Fagge local government area.

The deputy commander general, noted that, those apprehended were suspected of prostitution, drug peddling other immoral acts.

Dr. Mujahid pointed out that, hotels, restaurants and joints have expressed their willingness to partner with hisbah board, in fighting immorality, as well as operating according to rules and regulations guiding the profession.

He added that, the board would not relent in it’s efforts of sanitizing Kano, free of all forms of vices, promoting alternative dispute resolution, preaching good and forbidding bad behaviors, among Kano residents.

While commending the state government for the support, he appealed to the public to contribute their quota, by reporting any suspected person or character to relevant authorities.
