COLLAPSE OF MORAL VALUES RESPONSIBLE FOR BAD GOVERNANCE- EXPERTS                                                                                                                 08-11-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      The collapse of Moral Values has been identified as part of the factors responsible for the ineffective performance of some institutions which had retard rapid democratic progress over the years in Nigeria.
These were the submissions of stakeholders at a National Dialogue in Abuja
The event centred on National conversation on building a new value system that will restore Nigeria’s founding fathers visions and return the country to the path of growth and development.
A Professor of Political Economy and the Convener of New Tribe Of Patriots in Nigeria, Professor Pat Utomi, said Nigeria as a country can only be rebuilt if the citizens subscribed to good moral values.
According to the Professor of Political Economy, for Nigeria to experience basic changes the citizens should be willing to reform their characters.
To an Advocate of Moral Values, a special Adviser on Ethics and Moral Values to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Mrs Sarah Jibril, for any country to get it right, humanity and honest service to the creator must be given desired priority in all citizens actions.
The Secretary General of Big Tent, Dr. Austine Kemia, emphasized that Big Tent as an organization will continue to advocate for good governance irrespective of its Political affiliation
Other speakers at the event also called for the strengthening of values that will unite the nation and making the citizens to be committed to socio-economic development of Nigeria.
