JIGAWA STATE GOVERNMENT REITERATES COMMITMENT TO SUPPORT ISLAMIC EDUCATION ACROSS THE STATE 13-11-23
By Sadiq Aminu The state Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr Isah Yusuf Chamo made this known while declaring opened the 38th states Qur’anic recitation competition held in Dutse.
Dr Isah Chamo who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Musa Muhammad Yalleman said, the state government has integrated tsangaya programme in its 12 points agenda with the aim of improving Qur’anic education in the state.
According to him, 270 competing students from the 27 local government areas of the state will participate in the ongoing competition.
He therefore urged the participants to rededicate themselves by participating actively in the competition.
In his speech, the Emir of Dutse Alhaji Hamim Nuhu Muhammadu Sanusi commended the efforts of the present administration for supporting Islamic education across the state.
He expressed happiness how younger ages dominated the qur’anic recitation competition pledged to assist the most performing ones among the competitors.
The Emir urged them to redouble their efforts in view of winning the forthcoming national as well as the international Qur’anic recitation competition.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the state Islamic Education Bureau Dr. Mubarak Abdulwahab Hassan said
the competition at state level is part of the preparation to participate in the upcoming national Qur’anic recitation competition to take place in December, 2023.
He said, the 38th state Qur’anic recitation competition began from the local government level, while state level will last for seven days.
Dr Abdulwahab Hassan called on the local government coordinators to ensure full participation for their representatives in the competition.
