KEBBI VIGILANTE GROUP APPEALS FOR SOPHISTICATED WEAPONS TO FIGHT BANDITS                                                                                                                15-11-23

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The Kebbi State Vigilante group, has appealed to the state government to provide them with Sophisticated Weapons so that, they can confront and fight bandits and other criminal activities in the state.

The State Commander of the group, Sanusi Ibrahim Geza, who made the appeal at the inauguration of the new leadership of Birnin Kebbi local government area Command of the group, said having Sophisticated Weapons would jinger their members to confront bandits where and whenever they lunch an attack on any community.

He said, there members uses dane guns while bandits uses Sophisticated Weapons but still their members can confront bandits and other criminals whenever report reaches them.

The Commander, however called on the state government to provide them with Sophisticated weapons and vehicles to assist security outfits in the state despite their effort in the fight against insecurity in some part of the state.

On the Issue of the leadership tussle between the two faction of the Vigilante group in the state, the Commander said, it was resolved and they had come together as one family with a single leadership as directed by the state government.

The Director, Social Development, Birnin Kebbi Local Government Council, Zayyanu Gado, assured government support to the Vigilante group to boost their morale of fighting crimes and criminal activities in the state.
