MY ADMINISTRATION WILL IMPROVE HEALTH CARE, EDUCATION AND INDUSTRIALIZATION- PRESIDENT 15-01-24
By Sadiq Aminu President Bola Tinubu says his administration will pay more attention to health care, education and industrialization through increased budgetary allocation to accelerate development.
He stated this in Owerri during the inauguration of the Governor of Imo state, Chief Hope Uzodimma for a second term in office.
Africa 247 Correspondent reports that Lady Chinyere Ekomaru was also sworn in as the deputy governor to replace Professor Placid Njoku who served in that capacity in the first tenure of Governor Uzodimma.
President Tinubu said his administration was aware of the difficulties arising from the removal of fuel subsidy but appealed to Nigerians to persevere as they will soon have reasons to smile.
According to him, what the nation needs now is peace and stability, noting that the government will intensify efforts to enhance internal security.
President Tinubu congratulated the people of Imo state for being progressive and charged Governor Hope Uzodimma to pursue policies that will fast track development through effective collaboration with the federal government.
The Governor of Imo state Chief Hope Uzodimma promised to accelerate the development of the state through massive investment in agriculture, economy, health care, industrialization and road infrastructure.
He promised to consolidate on the gains recorded in his first tenure and gave an assurance that prompt payment of salaries and pensions would continue to receive priority attention of his administration in the next four years.
The Chief Judge of the state Justice Theresa Chikeka administered the oath of office and allegiance to Governor Uzodimma and his deputy lady Ekomaru at the occasion that was witnessed by former President Olusegun Obasonjo, serving and former state governors, leadership of the National Assembly and other dignitaries.
