SOKOTO STATE ASSURES ENHANCED WELFARE TO PERSONS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS                                                                                                                     09-02-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                      Sokoto state government says it’s committed to the welfare of persons with disabilities in the state.

The state commissioner for Social welfare, Alh. Ya’u Muhammad Danda stated while speaking to newsmen in the state.

The commissioner said already, a total of six thousand six hundred and seventy nine persons with special needs are receiving ten thousand monthly stipend each in a bid to cushion the effect of hardship in the state.

Alh. Muhammad Danda said the state government has also provided one bag of maize each to people with special needs in the state.

According to him, the state government under the leadership of governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto has directed the procurement of wheelchair for the association of disabled persons in the state.

He added that the state government is working on modalities aimed at assisting the internally displaced people in the state for socio-security and economic development of the state.
