FG ASSURES THAT NIGERIA’S SOCIO-CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS INTERESTS ARE CONSIDERED IN AU PLANS                                                                   16-02-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                     The Federal Government says it will ensure that the country’s socio-cultural and religious interests are considered in Africa Union’s planned integration of access to learning.

The Minister of State for Education, Dr. Yusuf Sununu, gave the assurance in Addis Ababa, while speaking with newsmen shortly before the opening of the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of AU Heads of State and Government.

He said the Tinubu Administration had taken the issue of education seriously, adding that the large size of the budget allocated to it was aimed at solving identified factors impeding easy access to education.

The Minister said some of the identified factors were infrastructure-deficit, general teacher-crisis, lack of technology in teaching, and some parents’ negative behaviour to education.

He said all the other factors impeding access to education would be dealt with accordingly.
