NSCDC PLEDGES TO FLUSH OUT CRIMINALS IN FCT 06-03-24
By Sadiq Aminu The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC says the days of criminals in the FCT are numbered.
Olusola Odumosu, the NSCDC, FCT Commandant stated this during the Passing Out Parade of the 2023 recruits held at the FCT Command Headquarters, Abuja.
He said with the recruitment of additional personnels who are well trained and equiped with modern arms, the fight against criminals especially, kidnappers, one chance syndicates and vandals had now taken a new dimension.
The Commandant who charged the 532 new intakes in the FCT to always maintain high level of discipline, professionalism and competence in the discharge of their responsibilities, warned them that their uniforms and weapons should not be used to intimidate or harass any citizen.
“Let me quickly let you know that your being confirmed as staff of NSCDC does not imply that you have arrived. You must shun bribery and other forms of corrupt practices. It is on record that those who have engaged themselves in unwholesome practices as a short cut to making wealth found themselves in taking the shorter and ignominious route out of the corps. To be forewarned is to be forearmed.” Odumosu stated
“In fact you cannot receive enough warnings as far as this job you have found yourself is concerned. You have been trained in weapons handling. This is one aspect of your job that you have to tread with utmost caution”. The Commandant added.
Odumosu told the new intakes that in NSCDC there no accidental discharge therefore the role of engagement must continually be their guiding principles.
He applauded the Commandant General of NSCDC, Dr. Ahmed Audi for making the FCT Command to always be at the forefront.
