USD3.2M ARMY AVIATION HANGER TO BE ESTABLISHED AT BOLA AHMED TINUBU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT MINNA, NIGER STATE                                                                                              21-03-24

By Sadiq Aminu                                                         A Three Point Two Million Dollar Army Aviation Hanger Is To Be Established At The Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport Minna, Niger State

The Nigerian Army Headquarters has approved the establishment of a three point two million dollar Army Aviation Hanger at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport Minna, Niger State.

The project which will have some assets of the Nigerian Army Aviation stationed in Minna, is to be financed by the Pan-African Business Forum, as its Corporate Social Responsibility.

The Coordinator, Nigerian Army Aviation, Brigadier General Musa Alkali made this known when he led other Army officials on a courtesy visit to the Niger State Government House, Minna.

He stated that the selection of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport Minna, for the establishment of the Army Aviation Hanger followed it’s centrality, certification by the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria and Federal Ministry of Aviation.

Brigadier General Musa Alkali said when completed,the Hangar would have 12 attack helicopters, 10 TB2 Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and 8 Magnus Light attack Aircrafts for surveillance, reconnaissance and patrol among other activities.

He also explained that proposal for the establishment of a 601 Special Forces Aviation battalion comprising 800 battle-ready soldiers in Niger State was ongoing.

The Army Aviation Coordinator said the Pan-African Business Forum supporting the Construction of Hangar at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Airport Minna is also willing to invest billions of dollars on projects execution in Nigeria including the Baro Port based on its economic importance to the country.

Responding, Governor Mohammed Umar Bago said the gesture would solidify security, improve the economy of the State and boost the confidence of investors.

He promised to provide the necessary logistics to facilitate the smooth take off of the Army Aviation Hangar and accommodation for the Special Forces Aviation battalion to be deployed in the State.

On the propose investment by the Pan African Business Forum on Baro Port Governor Bago promised to support any initiative towards it’s revival.
